Lost Society
Lost Society has a fantastic and frankly weird interior and great music, a combination that maxes it out every single weekend. It has a great outdoor courtyard too. One of the highlights of the “between Clapham Junction / Clapham Common pocket”.

During the summer, Gigalum at Clapham South can’t be seen behind the throng of people out the front. It’s an incredibly popular and lively bar opposite Clapham Common.

The Abbeville
The Abbeville pub is an institution for Abbeville villagers. With great food, an unusual layout and a calmer atmosphere than the thumping music of Clapham High Street, no wonder it’s always jam-packed!

The White House
The White House is Clapham’s most famous night spot. It used to be fairly exclusive, but now it’s a bar come club with a fantastic roof terrace for the summer. Be prepared to queue if you turn up at the weekend.

Burma documentary showing at Clapham Picture House
On Tuesday Clapham Picture House is showing a one-off screening of Burma VJ: Reporting from a Closed Country, a compilation of real-life camera footage by under cover video journalists in Burma which Empire calls “Captivating and essential viewing.” It’s been compiled and produced by Anders Ostergaard and is said to play out like a thriller, made all the more impactful by its harsh reality. Following the screening is a live satellite Q&A session with the director, a member of the Democratic Voice of Burma and a representative of the Burma Campaign UK. There are only limited tickets left, so book now.

News hitting the Clapham interweb includes the 20,000 people who turned up to Toast Festival 2009 on Clapham Common making it an unmitigated success.
