The dangers of walking to the tube... 11 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I am getting increasingly worried about the number of cyclists riding straight through red lights each morning when i cross Clapham High Street to go to the tube at Clapham North.

Every morning without fail, at least one cyclist sails straight though very fast, narrowly missing either myself or others crossing the road. Because of how many times this has happened, i always check before i cross (even though i have the green pedestrian light) and still have had bikes come out of nowhere and nearly nit me.

I love cycling and i love the cycle superhighway but am really worried about someone getting very badly hurt by this. Anyone else noticed this?

Yes! It's happening ALL the time now, it's really annoying and dangerous.

In a short walk back from Sainbsury's last night I saw cyclists weaving through a pedestrian crossing while people were still trying to cross; riding on pavements; and riding down the street on the wrong side of the road. Similarly this morning a cyclist shot across the pavement past me at high speed. Cyclists seem to have carte blanche at the moment.

It's getting more like a racetrack on the high street... Does anyone know who one would approach to raise this safety issue? Would it be the council or the police?
