More and more women are taking up the challenge of contact sport training such as boxing, kickboxing and martial arts. A traditionally male-dominated sport, women of all ages are taking up the challenge and giving the guys a run for their money. Gone are the days that female fighters were seen as butch and masculine with current stars of the ring and cage looking feminine.

Jack Wallington created a new topic Laser Hair Removal in Clapham in the forums.
Has anyone had laser hair removal in Clapham? Interested to see if there have been any success stories.
I know there's the Premier Laser Clinic... but you never hear of actual real life success stories with laser hair removal, do you?

Hey Ebony,
It sounds like a good idea to me if you can afford one and you're tight for time. I suppose you'll be looking for someone who is highly organised and good with people.

Jack Wallington replied to the topic Re: Desperately Seeking Lynda Bruce in the forums.
Thanks for the update Lynda, it's a fascinating story. I really love finding out about the Clapham area from days gone past. It's amazing that there was an entire school that existed in that part of Clapham and now it's gone except for a few photos and memories. If you can please do keep us updated if you find out more. I hope you get a happy end to your investigations :)

SW Media Publishing created a new topic MUMMIES FREE MAYDAY CRAFT FAIR in the forums.
Spring, art and cake
It’s a Mayday craft filled fest as Art+Cake in SW4, Clapham‘s free art and craft collectibles fair returns for its regular spot
This free, one-day, event offers Clapham's locals, artists and craft designers a place to come together as a community to enjoy art and crafts.
Held in a glass indoor and outdoor setting, the monthly event gets underway on Saturday 5 May 2012. Organised by the SW Review (formerly the SW4 magazine), the event launched in 2011 also provides an opportunity to buy new art from local artists, along with hand made craft designs.
Also featured are stalls exhibiting homewares, fashion, jewellery, collectibles along with vintage and contemporary designs. Visitors also get an opportunity to indulge in plenty of cake along with sweet baked treats and good nosh, and the event also offers a parent-supervised, free play area for children.
With high quality items priced from £5.00 upwards, the event is said to create a vibrant art and craft collectibles market place for Clapham's community.
Joan David-Kaye, creative director, said: “We provide artists with a visible platform on the high street and a place for the local community to share in the pleasure that art and crafts brings. Our two favourite things are art and cake; both provide much pleasure and derive from a creative process, and this is something we like to celebrate.”
FREE ENTRY: Art+Cake in SW4 is on Saturday 5 May 2012 from 09.30 to 18.30 at Clapham Methodist Church, 121 Clapham High Street, SW4 7RJ

Apparently a few months ago there was a completely naked man on a platform at Clapham Junction station performing a certain act on himself. I never saw nor want to see evidence but there were so many mentions on Twitter it must have been true!
Oh, and there's a gang of constantly fairly drunk people who patrol Clapham High Street asking for money and have done for years. The leader seems to be a short aggressive lady. Watch out.

It's an old train being brought back for the occasion and will be stopping at Clapham Junction.
