I really enjoy this happening on Clapham High Street, I hope it becomes a regular occurrence with even more art.

I went to see Battersea Park fireworks from a friend's roof (so didn't pay) - it was much better! Clapham should have paid fireworks in future if that's the result.

Yes! It's happening ALL the time now, it's really annoying and dangerous.

Wowsers, that's pretty scary. My friend lives on Abbeville road and says the police did knock to try and find out more information.

Wok Wok in Clapham Junction is fairly good too. Reasonably priced. Not amazing, but always good.

Hi Janey, it looks like Taryn Hauritz in the other post is training.

Jack Wallington created a new topic Clapham Leisure Centre Height in the forums.
Hi all,
I have to say, I'm mildly concerned about the height of the new Clapham Leisure Centre, it's absolutely massive compared to what was there before! The poor people living next door and opposite.
Nothing that can be done now though.

Jack Wallington created a new topic Do you think of Clapham Junction as Clapham? in the forums.
To be honest, I don't think anyone actually cares except those who have a vested interest in the borough boundaries, but it does my head in when people ask why Love Clapham reports on Clapham Junction because it's in Battersea.
I actually don't believe that the boundaries matter at all. The reason Love Clapham includes Clapham Junction is for multiple reasons:

I actually don't believe that the boundaries matter at all. The reason Love Clapham includes Clapham Junction is for multiple reasons:
- Clapham Junction is a neighbour of Clapham, used and visited frequently by Clapham residents and vice-versa. Even if you don't count it as Clapham, it's still relevant to residents in the same way Balham, Stockwell etc are.
- It has 'Clapham' in the name, so like it or not, lots of people think it actually is Clapham. I can't count the number of times my friends have said "oh I'm moving to Clapham too" when it's Clapham Junction.
- While the councils and people with an interest in the differences between the two boroughs may care a lot about the boundaries, for a site like this it doesn't matter two hoots. A website can quite easily report on both - and Love Clapham does.
- The official boundaries are irrelevant to the community. While officially Clapham Junction is part of Battersea (and I'm not saying that should change at all - I don't care) the local community, at least in my view, is so closely tied to Clapham Common. Clapham Common is the heart of this community and is one of the primary reasons people move to the area, whether it's Clapham Junction, Clapham South, Clapham Old Town etc. Of course Clapham Junction / Northcote Roaders have Wansworth Common too, but Clapham Common plays its part. Also, Clapham Junction has had 'Clapham' in its name for many decades now - for all intents and purposes, by name it is part of Clapham. Because of the prominence of Clapham Common and the name Clapham Junction, I would strongly argue that it makes more sense to think of the Clapham community stretching form Clapham Junction station, to Clapham South to Clapham North, round to Clapham Common and Old Town and back again.
Rant over :)

Hi Max,
Welcome to the new community! Thanks for your comments.
In my head I have plans, but my full time job and cost of site development are my restrictions. Still, my next big add on will be a proper directory that local businesses and organisations can use.
The biggest aspiration is to involve the local community more so that people start sharing information with each other, e.g. helping each other out, pointing out special local offers etc. There are other local sites with huge communities of local residents and they work really well. I guess it's as 'South Side Resident' says, the site needs more promotion to tell people about it.

Hiya! Thanks for your comments.
I agree, promotion is key but the big problem is that I run the site in my spare time, so I don't have much time to update it or promote it really (nor money). I definitely want to do some meet ups though (I have one planned for in the coming month, date tbc). I've also been toying with the idea of adding advertising to make some money to put back into the site.
In terms of help - anything people want to help with really! It could be content, promotion, or more advice to tidy the site up. Which leads me to, what about the navigation to you find difficult? Would be great to make it as easy to use as possible.
Thanks!
Jack

I've had an offer from the Coach and Horses on Clapham Park Road to host it there, possibly with some special offer for food. Happy to have it anywhere convenient really so as many people can come as possible - I'm really excited to meet everyone face-to-face and would like to do it before summer is a long distant memory!

It's a meet up... but with Twitter followers, except often open to more people...
To be honest I'm not sure but it generally involves people getting together, getting drunk and having a good ol chin wag.
