Big Squid is a PADI 5 star dive centre located in Clapham North Arts Centre just off Voltaire Road by Clapham High Street train station. It offers dive equipment (it’s a shop too) and dive courses run at their dive centre and at Clapham Manor baths just a 2 minute walk away.

Big Squid organises dive travel throughout the UK and abroad and has an active dive club that meets at the Bread and Roses pub on Clapham Manor street on the first Tuesday of the month ( free to join ). They have regular Sunday evening pool nights at Clapham Leisure Centre on Sunday evenings at 19.30-21.30.

Recently went on a trip organised by Big Squid and it was fantastic. Brilliant organisation, good value for money, the support offered by the instructors were great and the club was incredibly accommodating re: equipment hire and even assisted with organising travelling up there. An excellent experience overall, would definitely recommend them.
I have been going to Big Squid for a few years now and am really impressed with the way the team is always there to help and guide you without trying any hard sell. The shop is great and you can pop in for a coffee and chat or to get your regs serviced without any hassle. I picked up a dry suit from them this year and was allowed to jump in the pool one evening to try it out. This was a huge advantage and I will be buying a new computer from them soon
I’m a big fan of Big Squid, in my opinion the best dive club in London. It’s great to go somewhere where the staff seem genuinely interested in the customers and take the time to give honest, professional advice, and even make you a coffee while you browse the shop!
I’ve been a big squider for a few years now and the management and staff never stopped to impress me with their vast knowledge and friendly attitude. So if you would like to start diving or if you would like to extend your certification, look no more! Big Squid Dive Center is the best place to do so.
I did my PADI confined water training at Big Squid back in February and was very impressed with the staff and instructors. They were very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable in diving. I would recommend them to get your PADI certification and to purchase any diving equipment.
Big Squid is a great club, I would recommend anyone wanting to learn to dive, develop their diving ability or buy some equipment pays them a visit. And if you can dive already give the club a try, its the best I have found in London, its very welcoming with a great mix of people attending.

I am very new to the diving scene and was really wary of where I should learn but when I started to look for places, I came across Big Squid, I didn’t need to look any further. They are so helpful. Answered all my questions and just made it so easy. Carla, John and the instructors are AWESOME and just so friendly. I won’t do another course any where else but through Big Squid!!
Having dived tropically around the world for many years, I finally decided to start diving UK waters. Big Squid staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, their services top notch and you can even order items in at prices to match online retailers!

Big Squid is a jewel in clapham’s crown, All the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, and there are plenty of courses and dive trips going on. Pop in and have a chat and a cup of coffee, you will be pleasantly surprised.
The Big Squid Dive Centre is a pleasure to visit. The staff are always really helpful and friendly when ever I have questions about training courses or need advice about equipment – they even offer you a cup of tea or coffee while you browse. For me, it’s the best dive centre in London.

The club offers a wonderful introduction to diving in the UK, they organise fabulous trips abroad and even put on great social events. I would recommend them to anyone.

Big Squid is a small owner-operated business that I first came to know about five years ago when I learnt to dive. The club caters for all levels: from non-divers looking to learn to the most experienced. I have been on several international trips with them over the years and highly recommend. The owner and his small team are particularly friendly, helpful and charming!
Big Squid were great helping me buy some new and second hand equipment; sharing their knowledge and expertise and a whole load of patience while I asked a zillion questions. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed doing diving courses with them and having a few drinks in the pub, and would definately recommend them to anyone!
Did my rescue diver with Big Squid a few months ago. They were great: friendly, knowledgeable, I managed to borrow everything i needed from them, and they were cheaper than other places. Oh, and very flexible on dates. Will definitely go back – maybe to do my divemaster!
Went for a couple of UK diving trips with Big Squid they were amazing. Everything were taken care of that I could completely relaxed and enjoy the dives. Staffs are very friendly and helpful, would definitely recommend to anyone.

I learnt to dive with Big Squid 8 years ago, and have never looked back. I’ve stuck with John and his team because they love diving. Anywhere. In puddles if that’s all that’s on offer. Always friendly, and with so much experience between them, excellent for advice. The trips are always well organised and fun. And they’re hardened fans of UK diving – which is great, encouraging tourism at home.
